| On May 19th, 2009, 12 car teams at Harlingen South High School became the 3rd running of the The Pedaled Boxcar Challenge. We ran modified tricycles turned cars, PVC based creations, to hot rods formed with fire and steel from the minds of some of the brightest 16 and 17 year olds our city has to offer. Some very fast cars emerged to compete in this now classic race at our school. What we have done is grown from a little know project to a city wide INFERNO of competition that was featured on the Valley Morning Star, our local newspaper's website. Click here to see the story. I am forever impressed with what my new students come up with. They are so INGENIOUS with their designs. I am proud of all the participants. But the Boxcar Challenge would go NOWHERE without the help of a few special people. John, Jackie, and of course...Carolina. And...We wouldn't be able to celebrate without Kara, Niko, and Tapangan Pediatrics. | ||||
